America's Got Talent Balloon Flight...
Dancing on Air teamed up with host, Nick Cannon, to
introduce the 2011 season of America’s Got Talent
from a hot air balloon! The season premiere airs on
May 31st. The balloon flight took place on March
30th and was truly a wonderful experience.

Captain America, one of Dancing on Air’s three
patriotic theme balloons, was chosen for the
flight. The impressive 140,000 cubic foot balloon
stands about 70 feet tall and is over 65 feet in
diameter. The weather was ideal for the late
morning launch in beautiful Hunterdon County,
New Jersey. Everything went as planned. The
75 minute flight was filmed from the air using a
gimbal-mounted camera on a helicopter and by
a camera person in the balloon chase vehicle.
As anyone can imagine, a lot of planning and
effort went into putting the project together.
“We are very excited to have been involved
with such a professional organization. The
two teams worked extremely well with each
other” said Dancing on Air owner Robin
Loesser. Thanks go out to Nick Cannon,
Alison Holloway, everyone from America’s
Got Talent and, of course, the Dancing on Air
team.
The event was extra special for some fourth-graders
who were on recess at the time. They watched the
balloon land in a field near their school. Mr. Cannon
was gracious enough to go over and say hello to the
kids. Pilot Ken Loesser said "They went absolutely
crazy when they saw Nick. It was like the Beatles at
Shea Stadium. It is a story those kids will be telling
for the rest of their lives... what a thrill!"
